Local, regional and international partners from Michigan and Canada are collaborating to provide a unique opportunity for buyers in Ontario and Michigan to diversify their supply base, discover new products, and develop cross-border contacts at the region’s first Binational Meet the Buyer event.

The Binational Meet The Buyer event will be held on April 22, 2015, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Port Huron, Michigan, from 10:30 AM -3:30PM.  The event will begin with registration and opportunities for networking. 

Sellers are invited to pitch products face-to-face with key decision makers and learn more about trade resources that can help businesses grow through exporting goods and services.  Export Development Canada and the U.S. Export Assistance Center staff will be available to provide export counseling assistance.    

Buyers are invited to meet new potential suppliers located along the 402 on the Canadian side and I-69 International Trade Corridor in Michigan connected by the Blue Water Bridge.  

There will also be an exciting, fast-paced, Quick Pitch session, in which up to eight companies will be given five minutes to briefly pitch their product, service or company related to topics specified below:

  •  Business Products/Services
  • Technology Use/Advancements
  • Advancement of Ecology/Sustainability Practices
  • Strategic Endeavors Related to Community/Economic development

The fee for sellers to participate is $15 per attendee.  Buyers are asked to provide a short-list of desired purchasing needs, with no fee for participating.  Both buyers and sellers may register at www.meetthebuyer.weebly.com.
