Chuck Reid, owner of the CityFlatsHotel, announced April 16, 2014, that Downtown Port Huron will be the new location for a CityFlatsHotel & bistro. The vacant historic Sperry's building in Port Huron will soon become a high-end hotel featuring 38 rooms, a bistro, ballroom and conference rooms. CityFlatsHotel is expected to open in the Spring of 2015, will invest between $12-$14 Million and be hiring approximately 50 people.
This new Port Huron, Michigan, hotel will be conveniently located in walking distance to a variety of downtown businesses, eateries, waterfront access, and the McMorran place. Construction will begin immediately.
St. Clair County County, Michigan, recently celebrated the opening of the beautiful, waterfront DoubleTree by Hilton and Freighters restaurant. A new convention center is also under construction. All of these new developments, combined with the amazing access to Canadian visitor spending, is showcasing what the Blue Water region has to offer the tourism and hospitality sector. Growth in this market is expected to continue.
