St. Clair County, Michigan

On the snowy evening of Tuesday, February 9, 2016, the Economic Development Alliance (EDA) took time to reflect on the impressive local economic growth that occurred in 2015 at its Semi-Annual dinner held at Alexander’s Banquet Center in Marysville.

“It was an extremely gratifying year for companies, communities and the EDA, said Dan Casey, CEO of the Economic Development Alliance.   We’re proud to celebrate with the community the many accomplishments of our region, including $417.81 million in total investment and 525 new jobs, helping to drive our unemployment rate to its lowest point since 2007.”

The EDA acknowledged that the Blue Water Area’s 2015 successful economic growth would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of many regional partners, leaders and officials.  President of the EDA and St. Clair County Administrator, Bill Kauffman, said “The EDA has been collaborating with other organizations to develop a strong sustainable economy and we’re seeing a positive impact on the economy with jobs and investment.  We’re all working together to support our community and grow the economy.  We greatly appreciate the unwavering commitment and lead of the EDA in the efforts to create a prosperous future for all in St. Clair County.”

In celebration of the companies who made strategic investments and/or job creation in 2015, EDA honored 22 companies with certificates of recognition at the event.  A few of the recipients are shown below:
