St. Clair County Project Utilizing Brownfield Michigan Business Tax Credits:

Desmond Landing

Acheson Ventures, developer of the Desmond Landing redevelopment project along the Black and St. Clair Rivers in Downtown Port Huron will utilize numerous provisions under Michigan's Brownfield legislation to prepare and redevelop an old industrial site along the waterfront. Through the Port Huron Brownfield Authority and following approvals by the MEDC and MDEQ, taxes are being captured to repay costs associated for environmental assessments, due care and additional response activities. Tax capture will also reimburse expenditures for infrastructure improvements. An MBT tax credit to stimulate development has also been awarded to the project through the MEDC.
