Export Focus Group Meetings

The EDA is conducting focus group meeting focusing on exporting. The purpose of these meetings is to provide area companies with the information need to grow your sales and help diversify your customer base through exports. Additionally, feedback provided by companies will be used to create custom International Trade programming for an Export Seminar to be held in Port Huron on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. A Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Export Assistance Consultant will facilitate the Focus Group meetings.

Companies should come prepared to share your company’s export related opportunities and challenges. Companies are invited to participate in the appropriate Focus Group Meeting depending upon their current status:

June 11, 2019: 8:30 am to 9:30 am: Companies that currently do not export and have less than 50 employees
June 11, 2019: 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm: Companies that currently do not export and have more than 50 employees

For these sessions, participating companies will receive information on how to get started in exporting and available resources to guide your company into exporting.

June 12, 2019: 8:30 am to 9:30 am: Companies that currently export and have less than 50 employees
June 12, 2019: 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm: Companies that currently export and have more than 50 employees

For these sessions, participating companies will receive information on available resources to assist your exporting efforts and how you can take advantage of those resources.

The EDA and the Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are partnering to offer this informative and practical seminar on how to grow your business through exports. We are assembling a line-up of International Trade specialists to provide companies with the information needed to start exporting or to grow your current exports. Among the opportunities already lined up for the September seminar are one-on-one appointments with representatives from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Foreign Trade Offices in Canada and Mexico.
