Energy Components Group, LLC (ECG)
Energy Components Group, LLC (ECG) has chosen St. Clair County for the location of their new manufacturing facility to service the alternative energy market focusing on solar and wind opportunities. The EDA provided site selction assistance and the coordination of an incentive package that included a MEGA employment tax credit, workforce training grants and the offer of a Renewable Energy Renaissance Zone (RERZ). Teamwork with the MEDC, St. Clair City Council and St. Clair County Board of Commissioners helped to eliminate red tape and solidify this alternative energy company.

Chrysler, LLC
Chrysler calls St. Clair County home with the announcement of a $366 Million dollar investment in a new axle plant in the City of Marysville. The axle plant is now under construction on a 211 acre parcel and when fully operational is expected to employ 750 directly with approximately 250 additional in-house contract positions. The EDA assisted Chrysler with its site selection process and coordinated a comprehensive and complicated package of incentives resulting in the decision of Chrysler Corporation to locate this facility in our community.

Keihin Corporation
Keihin Indiana Precision Technology announced in April (07) the company's selection of St. Clair County's Village of Capac for the home of their newest manufacturing facility. Keihin Michigan Manufacturing will be the 4th US facility for Keihin Corporation and this $22 Million investment included the purchase of 24 acres of land. Keihin's new 153,000 sq.ft. facility was completed in the Spring of 2008 and will employ approximately 260 people. Keihin is the largest supplier to Honda in North America and will produce approximately 680,000 Intake Manifold Assemblies and 200,000 HVAC systems at this plant for Honda annually. The EDA recruited Keihin over several months and coordinated a comprehensive package of incentives including grants for infrastructure improvements, a 50% property tax abatement for 12 years and a $1.1 Million State tax credit. EDA looks forward to building relationships with other suppliers in the Honda family.

Jobs: 100 ~ Professional White Collar
MAG Powertrain
In 2006, MAG Powertrain made the decision to bring 100 new professional, white collar jobs to St. Clair County by choosing the Port Huron Industrial Park as the new home for the company's administrative, engineering, purchasing and program management operations. The EDA worked diligently with City officials and the MEDC to coordinate a package of assistance resulting in the company's location decision.

DANA Corporation
Dana Corporation is a supplier of drivetrain, chassis, structural, and engine technologies to every major vehicle and engine producer in the world. In 2006, Dana chose to expand their St. Clair County location by 28,000 square feet, investing $9.7 Million and creating 130 new jobs. The EDA crafted a package of assistance that helped influence Dana to locate additional production opportunities in its St. Clair facility. The assistance coordinated via the EDA included property tax abatements, investment tax credits, SBT credits for personal property investments and resolving several issues related to approval and implementation of its site plan.
